About

Manohar Singh

Hi, I’m Manohar — most people call me Mano.

I was born and raised in Assam, in the northeast of India. As a kid I picked up the tabla, and stuck with it long enough to earn a Visharad — a diploma in Indian classical music. I still chase a ball around whenever I can; sport has always been my other language.

I studied computer science, and somewhere in there spent time on research into brain–computer interfaces for wheelchair control — trying to move a chair using signals read straight from the brain. Since then my work has wandered through a few very different worlds: a long stretch in gaming, then automotive, then e-commerce, and now renewable energy.

I’ll be honest about one thing: the state of the world tends to make me sad, more often than not — and I haven’t really done anything to change it. It’s something I sit with.

I moved to Berlin in 2022, and that’s home for now.

This site — manologs — is just my corner of the web: notes, half-formed thoughts, and the occasional longer piece. If it’s the work side you’re after, that lives on LinkedIn.
